Adobe Photoshop and Procreate.
Animorphic Self-Portrait is a self-portrait of me fused with a praying mantis. The piece started out in Procreate, eventually making its way into Adobe Photoshop. There, I started to heavily study digital painting and wanted to incorporate what I've learned into this piece. Also, I wanted to have fun and try to use color to its fullest potential. I used a contrasting color scheme and I wanted to have warm lights, cool mid-tones and then warm darks. Another component to this piece is that I wanted to practice linework and I relied on inking and cross-hatching to convey value, volume and shape. This illustration was a joyful process and it started through thumbnailing, rough sketches, a final sketch and color study... then at last, the rewarding final product.
